My Dad had always told me about this 25 mile loop around a lake called blue marsh. I had never ridden there until yesterday and was exiting about riding there. In the morning it poured and was looking like we wouldn't be able to ride. After lunch it cleared up and was looking like it would stay that way. Looks can be deceiving. Since it is a long loop all the way around a big lake there is no where to turn back. Well the first 20 miles of the ride were great. The trail is just fast smooth and hilly. My dad broke his bike so he rode my caffeine, and I had to ride an extremely heavy, ridged, single speed. If you have never ridden Blue Marsh it is filled with very short, very steep hills which is not good for single speeders. So, me and my Dad made it about 3/4 of the way around and we started to hear lightning. We picked up the pace and it started to get louder. Then it started pouring, lightninging, and thundering, all at once. The trail practically turned into a stream which we had to ride through. We tried to take a short cut which only made us be out there longer. A loop that took my dad 2 hours before, took us almost 4.
