3 is the charm

This weekend started off with a cross country race on Friday.  It is my second to last meet of the year and it was leagues.  I think that running a small three mile loop is way harder then any bike race i have ever done.  I gave it everything i had and then some to get my best time of 18:47, it was good enough to get 14Th out of all the freshman at the race.  Next Friday there is districts which will have 800 people in my race.  I am really excited!! I had a recovery drink and had to get ready for next two hard days of racing!
The following day was Granogue.  That was a sick course for me, i really excelled on the climbs riding the steep one before the green house section all but once.  The race started of and i wasn't ready at all.  I had a terrible start almost in last place.  By the time the junior field caught the back end of the c
class they were just entering the barriers.  I had caught up to the lead group by then and was working my way through all the people.  By the time we had made it to the bottom of the big hill i think i was in first.  I sprinted up it passing tons of people and gaining a bigger lead.  I rode the first lap by myself until to kids caught up to me and passed me for a little.  As soon as we hit the hill to the water tower, i blew by them both but only managed to completely drop one.  He stuck on my wheel for a while until i had a decent sized gap and rode away with the win.  Grangoue's course was super sick and i can't wait for next year!!

Wissahickon, what i sick race.  The course was by far the coolest cross course i have seen yet and really enjoyed racing on it, Kelly p
ut on an awesome race.  I got there early and it was freezing, i brought my dog lance and he kept me warm quiet nicely.  I got registered, and did a few laps on the course.  I thought the spiral of death was just the craziest thing ever as well as the up hill barriers.  the race started off just perfectly, i somehow got one of the first numbers and you lined up in number order.  By the time we had to go around the really tight corner i had a lead on the entire C-class.  I was out
in front by too big of a lead and didn't realize it until they started to catch me at the end.  The first time through the barriers i tripped and fell, it was really embarrassing.  I got up and kept going strong.  I was out in front for the hole race minus th
e last fourth of a lap.  I just didn't have enough gas in me to stick with them
when they caught me.  In the end i got 5 out of the c class.  It was soo much fun. Cross is really catching up to mountain biking as my favorite.

I glued my heliums today and should have them for this weekend.  It is such a pain to glue those tires on i hope it is worth it.  So many people have different opinions its hard to choose which one to do.  It think i have a good plan though.

gunnar, you should have seen me and jeff gluing mine up on saturday night in his garage after we rode middle run. I got glue everywhere...look good though I think. I just need to work on my perfection of alignment and on glue distribution. I had glue on my hands for 3 days.
Good racing this weekend buddy.

I'm pretty sure I'll be running XC next year. If your school ever has any meets against State College, maybe I'll see you.

Of course you can join us. I'll be camping that weekend, unfourtunatly. That won't stop me from riding. Zach's coming by on Saturday and we'll go for a short ride before I leave. I should be back Sunday morning and you could stop by for a ride around noon or 1. We can talk further about this...do you have a cell phone number or an email?
