Glouchester

Two weeks ago i went up to Glouchester Massachusetts. My Dad met Forrest at the turnpike and picked Kyle and I up from school. We were then off on the long drive up to Jeffs grandparents house where we were staying. After the horrible journey, and couple gas station breaks and subway stop we finally arrived. Not after passing a bunch of creepy drive ways and a wooden chair with a coat on it that looked like a person. We unpacked the car and went to bed, all hoping that the predicted rain would not fall.

The next morning we all woke up to the sound of down pour and mud forming. After storming into Dunkin donuts in full bright yellow rain gear, and ordering the best pre race meal every, we drove to the venue. When we first got there the course wasn't that bad, however it seemed as each rider went by the course got worse. Until no sections of the course were green, and the course that was originally 10 feet wide, was stretched to 15. It seemed like every other stake was broken, from people trying to find grass. After a good solid warm up outa the rain, we all road down to the finish. The wind seemed strong enough to blow you over, and the rain was almost stinging it was coming down so fast. I think that start was the fastest one Ive encountered all year. It seemed like not even after i was clipped in, i was being ridden away from. I made up a lot of ground on one of the first corners where everyone went inside in the mud, and i went outside on the hard surface. I was feeling really good all race until the run up each lap. You came up to it and it was like hitting a wall. It was rough. I ended up catching someone on the last lap i was trailing all day, and that really made the race. I ended up 9th, and felt good.

After the race everyone went home to try and get the bikes washed and kits clean. Finally once we all were done doing our cool downs inside, where we had one tire popping that could have been mistaken for a gun shot it was time for dinner! Then a little bit of The Longest Yard and it was off to bed!

The next day, was muddy again, not as bad as the other day though, and it was kinda sunny. I knew i needed a better start then the previous day. I got one, i was in the main group, even though i wasn't able to stick with it, i could see them not far off in front of me the entire time. I placed 9th once again, however my race was much better. I felt fantastic, and only finished a couple minutes behind the leaders, and they're was a group of four right in front of me.
