Double Headers!

I really seem to like weekends with two races. Not only because i don't enjoy doing nothing on Saturdays to be ready for Sunday, but i always feel better on Saturdays. Two weeks ago was no exception. After an early rise to make it down to granogue to help park cars, and deal with the rain my dad and i arrived. Once again, before the races started the course looked good and i was thinking it might be able to handle the rain. However half way through the first race, people were slipping and sliding all the way down the tower hill.

My start was killer! I had a front row starting position, and was leading the race up the hill. However by the time i got to the run up, my start went from me killing it to it killing me. I paid dearly for that hard effort, and unfortunately it took me to long to recover from it. I felt it all the way until half way through the second lap lap. Finally i felt ok, and started working my way back up. I ended up 8th. hoping for a better finish the following day.

After cleaning my bike and getting everything ready for tomorrow, i was fast asleep. Wissahickon seems to be always really wind and this year was no exception. It was windy! Things were looking muddy but not nearly as bad as the previous day. I had another good start, but was a little more cautious in not going to hard. For the first part of the race there was a group of about 10 or so, then me and Sam went leaving the rest of the group behind. We road together for awhile, until we hit the road section where Sam got a gap. I was never able to catch back up with him. Their was a group of 4 riders right behind me, trying to catch me the entire last lap. I was not going going to let them catch me, i used everything i had to not get caught and come in second!
