Today was the fair hill cross race and it was soo much fun. Ed came up from Baltimore I am really concerned about something, and that something is whether i like cross or mountain biking more. Mountain biking is the first part of biking that i really loved, and it would be hard for cross to overcome that, but i think it will be close. The race started off with me attempting to be a little more strategic. I oftenly go out super hard, like at the maximum, and hope no one catches me. This method proved inefficient at Wissahickon. I started at the very back of the c-class. So, even if i wanted to i wouldn't have really been able to go all out at the start. I made a couple of sly moves and manged to pass at huge portion of the c-class, and keep Zach Bender right in my sights. In the beginning he seemed extremely strong and i wasn't sure i would be able to hang on. As soon as we hit the huge sand pit, i closed the gap. When we hit the edge of it he seemed weak so i made my move and dropped him. I road the rest of the race with a fairly comfortable lead. I was able to weasel my way up to fourth or fifth in the C-class. After the race we saw Forrest, Larry, and Lesley who decided to join Ed, my dad, and me on our adventure at White Clay. When we arrived at the Parking lot we meet a Very nice lady named Hope, who agreed to tour us the park. Apparently Hope's daughter was a world champion track racer and road racer and an incredible cross racer as well. She was also on my Dad's old Bikesport Team at Allamuchee. She lead us on some of the best single track i think i've ever ridden. IT was so flowy and smooth and fun. When we came to the skills park i almost died. IT was the craziest thing ever, and i've never ridden anything like it. I had a blast this saturday and hope to ride there in the near future!
