Snowcaster and Spring Mount

This weekend started off with first skiing of the year on Friday Night. Bear Creek opened up the bottom area of the mountain for a rail jam.  They introduced three of their new rails, and everyone was hitting them.

The next day was Wonderland near lancaster and it was like a real winter wonderland with lots of snow on the way up and some on the course. It was my first experience with snow riding and i thought it was really cool.  I found it interesting how many horse and buggies their were on the road up there.  I raced B class and had a terrible start, i was up in the front but couldn't get moving quick enough and some of the fast leaders were gone right away.  There were these really cool uphill low barriers that i think i could have easily bunny hopped on my mountain bike, but i was just to scared to hit it with the cross bike.  I fell back into like 8th or 9th and worked my way back up to seventh i think.  I really liked racing in the snow.  I raced hard and was always able to make up time on the run up hills, but just wasn't able to catch up with the lead group after they had a lead.  At the race they said that Spring Mount blew to much snow and that sundays race was moved to a local park.  Spring Mountain is like 3 minutes from my house so i was very excited to be racing there so i was disappointed to hear it was moved. On the way home My dad stopped at the park we thought it was at, and there they were re  setting up since the whole course had to be moved that morning.  I helped set things up at the end and got a chance to preride the course.  I though that the course was incredible knowing that it was set up in such a quick time.  I got there that morning, after squeezing church in before, to watch Kyle and some of the Bikesport guys race.  They looked like they were having fun on a awesome day.  I was a little rushed getting things going and had a rough start.  I was to the left of the beaten path, and on the corners i couldn't hop into the line of people.  It took me awhile to get situated but once i started picking it up i felt great.  By the end of the race i moved up into sixth place and was really moving i felt great that day and cant wait to race PA States next week!!  Here are some pictures of Matt, james and pete racing on sunday.
