This was by far the best Bear Creek Short track. The course was the longest lap ever but the most fun. During my warm up I fell really hard and hurt my thumb. I had the worst race ever, only because I couldn't shift. That was the last straw, I am getting grip shift. The race went good in the beginning, I was the 2nd one into the woods. I made a mistake in the tight single track, and they got a jump going into the hill. I couldn't shift, so I had to walk and they got away for good. I rode the rest of the race by myself and finished fourth. The Bear creek short tracks always have a second race, which is just for fun. It's normally a miss-n-out, the last rider pulled on each lap and sometimes it's a time trial. However today the miss-n-out had a twist to it. The last four riders did one more lap, then there was a sprint to the lake. Where you had to kayak out into the middle of the lake, around the fountain, and back. Topher won and I got third. After that I went out and did a XC Lap with my head light, IN preparation for Marysville. The race was sick and it was cool to see more people out at it!

Oh...nightriding would be a good idea. My dad is old and is getting wierd about that stuff. He keeps joking on not letting me race the night TT at Marysville. I should practice though...only been night riding twice.
And gripshift is super light. Make sure you have a Sram derailleur though, cause some use 1:1 and some use 2:1, so a gripshift may not work, but if you have Sram it would.
