SWIMMING IN SEWEL

The summer sizzler started off looking like the weather was going to hold off.  It did.......for about the first half lap.  After that it was pretty much a lighting storm.  The race started off with a few clouds but some sun.  We got the 15 second warning and i was ready.  We started off with Cameron, Ross, and I separating right off the bat.  Right after the first climb with a wooden thing with rubber on it we dropped Ross.  Than it was just me and Cameron.  I rode his wheel for the first half a lap then about the same time it started raining, i fell and he pulled away.  I was about a minute behind him the first lap and a minute behind him the second lap.  So my little slip up let him get a jump on me and i never could catch him back.  The course was so sandy and gritty i wore right through a pair of brake pads that had only four rides on them.   I ended up with second place with a time of 1 hour 3 minutes. Sadly my Dads camera battery died so he didn't get any photos of the madness.

I saw some of the photos from the race. It looked like great conditions for the first lap or so but when the storm came in it seemed crazy muddy.
